1957 Sputnik shocked Congresscritters with implied thermonuclear annihilation raining down from "the high ground." The 1958 National Defense Education Act redirected and funded public school K-12 into Gifted child factories. Sagacious yard apes were brutally culled by standardized testing. We were transformed into mind weapons programming assembler in octal and anything else school districts could dump into porkbarrel stew.
Four years of scourging genius became policy with IGC, SPE, and Honors classes. Look at those test s(c)ores! Given five-year olds in 1959 (and compiled computer languages), mutant smart PhDs disgorged late 1970s and onward. First World civilization flexed its most extreme mentalities... and the world shifted.
The surname of the very bottom of Public School 208's Gifted barrel was yelled as an insult. He brokers international trade agreements in Manhattan. He is feared. Another drove an ambulance, was an airport Customs inspector, and took some programming classes. He is a DoD civilian telling rather a large number of uniforms what needs to be done. They should listen.
Fifty years of education, military, and industry intelligence testing were made flesh. A ethnic lahar with proletarian accents as big as their noses disgusted Ivy League schools. They were barred, rejected, excluded... and admitted, for the gush of perfect test scores could not be denied. They could later work for those filling hallowed halls with Gentleman Cs.
Had the amorphous bulk been admitted it would have performed statistically. The bulk was not admitted. 1800 years of European oppression selectively bred people deemed pariahs who survived only by their wits. 90% of that product was slaughtered - the ones not smart or pushy enough to flee. The surviving slim far right of a harshly shifted bell curve fled to the New World and bred. Their mutant smart kids were monstrously culled by intellectual performance, again. Then America only tolerated the very top sliver of that spectacular proficiency.
They became the most coveted lawyers, CPAs, doctors, scientists, mathematicians, professors, and engineers. It hardly mattered that the fight was not fair. Asians who want entry into the University of California need score way more than 28 points/game in varsity basketball. UC does not want them in the nicest possible way. That Asians are 37% of the student body from 18% of local population is sincerely earned with their own blood. Support evolution - shoot back.
Social activism demands its cut. Unlike intelligence requiring constant fueling, stooopidity is its own engine of creation. The coin flipped... and here we are. As Iran Officially births nightmares of nuclear annihilation raining down from "the high ground," let us review contemporary US rules of engagement.
Nine Steps to Social Equity (no carry arithmetic allowed):
California's 2009 education budget was $57 billion, with a "b." Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) total funding was 0.03% of that. Given "No Child Left Behind" DoEd standards, 32% of students can Officially read, write, and do simple sums. The performance bar rests on the floor. 68% of students managed to pry open basement windows and sneak under. Some 60% of California high school entering freshman muddle through to graduation within six years (even with social promotion - credit for time served). The average diploma is grasped by an IQ hard by 80. The top 2% of that barely qualifies for traditional college admission (now social engineered into a sour joke).
It is wry justice that California teacher (educator, pedagogic engineer) pensions are gone for a Burton. The California State Teachers' Retirement System is the Number Two public pension in the country. January 2010 saw CalSTRS report it was $43 billion short of its obligations and sinking fast. $43 billion in the red is hardly happenstance. Sacramento reports a whole-state Official $21 billion white-hot panic-oozing shortfall for fiscal 2010. That required PJ O'Rourke's parliament of whores.
Perhaps CalSTRS diversity hired its own product. That justifies (demands!) profuse Federal bailout. It is a collateralized intellectual mortgage obligation being sliced, diced, and tranched into an investment in the future!

The University of Michigan has 90+ diversity programs but find a single Gifted program, for that would be apartheid. Universities must be resynthesized into citadels of empowerment, not continue upon their destructive paths as odious puppets of mentally other- abled repression. We are invincible! Imagine the surprise when Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen... North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, China... and Iran win. How can anybody anticipate bad luck?
