The torrent of European immigration which established the classical United States' population was environmentally, phenominologically and sociologically selected for an expressed behavioral inventory of desperate aggression, conquest, intelligence, and risk-seeking behavior. The "Ugly American" of the 1950s and 1960s was in every way superior to the descendants of indigenous Europeans. His ancestors had been winnowed through an unforgiving sieve of ghettos, disease, starvation, discrimination and persecution at home, preparing them for the challenge of slums, disease, starvation, discrimination and persecution in America. The best of our ancestors responded with the determination of a rabid wolverine, surviving sweatshops and social malaise, putting their kids through school after school with a passion and a thump upside their heads, shortening their names, and demanding grandchildren. The fruits of their loins snarled back at society, creating organized crime, Hollywood, and ten round trips to the moon.
We don't do that any more.
While one social experiment was evolving a more capable and utilitarian human being, a second one ran simultaneously to create a dependent and miserably unproductive counterpart. While the dregs of Europe and Asia begat scientists, engineers, teachers, lawyers, and doctors the dregs of Africa and Hispanic America begat the reproductive warriors of the Welfare State. Like fleas and mosquitoes, the parasites are winning. As with bubonic plague and malaria, the hosts may not survive the experience. Save the cockroach and the anopheles mosquito - they may harbor the cure for cancer or something.
The essence of evolution is survival of the fittest within an attainable alternative. The weakest of the European immigrants did not survive and the worst never left home. The Gaussian curve of intelligence/ability/fitness was repeatedly shaved in favor of the most aggressive and the brightest, survivors of a terrible selection pressure. The worst of the African population was captured and forcibly deported to the Americas. The most recalcitrant and independent of the slaves were culled; the most simple-minded and tractable were bred. Entitlements are those boons meted out by government to those whose claimed right it is to receive them. The only merited inheritance is congenital idiocy, but Washington has invented a plethora of equally defensible alternatives. Sufficiently noisy ethnic and racial assemblages may successfully demand free food, clothing, shelter, medical aid, spending money; subsidized higher education, deferential hiring, political favors, legal immunity to committed misdemeanors and felonies; and the right to complain that they are still not receiving their fair share.
That these indigent populations, when assayed for members at the valuable edge of human capability and intelligence, do not contain nearly the numbers of individuals that populations who have worked for their wealth evolve is deemed racial and ethnic discrimination. That every form of intelligence testing over the past 50 years, including paradigms especially devised to be independent of discrete abilities, relentlessly underlines the incapability of the majority of these barnacles is deemed bias.
As with any organism introduced into a rich culture medium and unconstrained by limits to growth and excretion, these leeches have multiplied their numbers and their demands until the fiscal, cultural and physical bubble threatens to burst. America is bankrupt to the tune of six thousand billion dollars. America harbors compound interest-garnering debt fully equal to three years of her total national production of everything of value.
Washington poobahs buy another term of fatted pelf by hurling their budgets into the void without the slightest inkling of what is out there. If the anti-poverty spendings of the past quarter century are divided by the putative total number of recipients, we obtain equivalent tax-free family incomes of twenty to forty thousand dollars apiece annually. Taxpayers got to keep rather less. If after accumulating a twenty five year's tax-exempt stipend of $500,000 to $800,000 a family still wallows beneath the Federal poverty line, then the arguments for eugenics take on a new immediacy. Perhaps these remoras should be awarded a total fiscal cutoff. Let them try working for a living in the manner so vigorously demanded of taxpayers...
Or let them emigrate to a land where evil Western society does not keep them in thrall. The planet is rich with such. Their destination lies in front of the hyphen of their ethnicity, lands of obvious wealth and opportunity, awaiting their triumphant return.
